Mystery Fixed Stiletto!

Postby Madmarco » Sat Feb 01, 2020 7:21 pm

Hey guys, and gals! Just wondering if anyone could help me identify this piece? Its a 9" fixed blade stiletto/SS blade, solid NS bolsters, brass liners and pins, and black ABS scales. It has O.M.O.R./HK350/Japan, stamped on the front tang. I got it from a collector who had it for years from an estate sale, but had no information on it. Thanks!

It's not an auto, it's a fixed blade knife Chad, like the Latama/Derby bolsters that JB currently has for sale, that you did a partial restoration on around 2014, but not nearly as nice as that one! 8-)

Thx Chad, any idea where it comes from, or who made it? Also, do you know what the initials O.M.O.R. stamped on the tang stand for? No rush, just curious! 8-)

Best guess is Japanese. Maybe 1960s to 1970s. Hard to really say since you almost never see them. I am not the best with dates and prices, mostly just fix things..lol

O.K., thx man! Has "Japan" stamped on the tang, so I think your best guess is very likely accurate, just really curious what the O.M.O.R. stands for! :?: Not gonna lose any sleep over it though! Thx again! 8-)

I got some info on this knife recently, but don't know how accurate it is. I was told that the O.M.O.R. is ROMO spelled backwards. He went on to say that the HK350 would be affiliated with Hoch and Koehler, apparently a knife maker, or distributor from awhile back, and the 350 would be the model number. Lastly, he stated the obvious, that JAPAN was where it was made. Makes sense, I guess! 8-)
